Travel Information (More detailed information will be added here soon)
North Manchester is a small town, about a 40 minute drive from Fort Wayne.
Airports
The Fort Wayne International Airport is the closest airport, approximately 45 minutes from North Manchester. It’s a small airport and tends to cost a little bit more than other airports.
The Indianapolis Airport is often less expensive but is a two-hour drive from North Manchester.
Flying into Chicago is another option but is a 3-hour drive from us.
Car Rental/Rides
North Manchester is a small place and we currently have no Uber service in town.
Once you are here, we can help with rides to places in town. We will have some volunteer drivers who can provide rides between North Manchester and the Fort Wayne Airport. If you need help with rides, let us know and we will do what we can to help you get around.
Lodging:
As mentioned above, North Manchester is a very small town. There a couple of options for staying in town but the more familiar chain hotels (Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, etc.) can be found in the nearby towns of Wabash and Huntington, IN. Wabash is 15 miles away and Huntington is about 19 miles away.
The Eel River is a main motel in North Manchester. It’s not fancy, but is affordable. https://www.facebook.com/EelRiverInn/ It’s a very basic, but decent option if you are looking for something inexpensive.
The Fruit Basket Inn is a bed and breakfast in town. http://www.fruitbasketinn.com/
Feel free to contact Tim Reed (tmreed@manchester.edu) with any additional questions.
The festival is made possible by the Joyce and Wil Nolen Music Fund. The first and second Manchester New Music Festivals were held in 2013 and 2015. After a hiatus, we are excited to bring the festival back and plan to continue hosting this event on a regular basis moving forward.
